Sony Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) Drive

The latest tape Innovation in the Industry

AIT Technology

Sony has been a leading innovator of Tape technology for more than 30 years with the invention and development of the DDS technology which has been recognized as a standard solution for backup application.  From our latest innovative product, Sony has once again created a new tape technology called the Advances Intelligent Tape (AIT) drive.  In the AIT technology, it is based on the 8mm Helical Scan Technology which utilizes a high performance head and the unique AIT media.  With this unique combination, the AIT drive is able to deliver the highest possible performance reliability specification that is unrivalled in the industry.

ESP3013, ESP3026, ESP3053R-V, ESP5047, and ESP5095

Quantum Rushmore NTE Series solid State Disks (SSDs), with virtually instant I/O performance, are the perfect solution for online transaction processing, scientific modeling, material requirements planning, imaging, multimedia, video-on-demand, lightening-fast data storage, and more.  The NTE series SSDs let smaller computers handle larger workloads.  They’re ideal for companies that are moving to PC servers or downsizing computers to save money.

The NTE Series SSDs can give your Windows NT and other PC servers a uniquely powerful competitive advantage.  Whether you’re trying to get a high performance server to market faster, increase the throughput of an existing system, or improve the moneymaking capability of a transaction processing system, these SSDs can help you turn I/O into a strategic asset and a competitive advantage.  The NTE Series SSDs eliminate the latency of disk rotation and read / write head seek, and deliver more than 5 000 I/Os per second.  With performance like that, these SSDs eliminate bottlenecks and boost application execution speeds in high-end workstations.  PC Servers, and RAID disk arrays.

Quantum NTE SSDs install just like hard drives – they’re available in 3.5 – and 5.25-inch form factors- and can be mirrored and striped and bound in volumes.  Equipped with SCSI-2 interfaces, the NTE Series SSDs can be used in virtually any system and application environment without changing applications, operating systems, or computer operations.

RU3026, RU3107R-V, RU316OR-V, RU5107, RU5210 and RU5320

Quantum Rushmore Ultra Series Solid State Disks (SSDs) are the optimum solution for a growing number of mission-critical applications that demand lightning fast I/O performance.  This includes everything from ultra-high-volume transaction processing, RAID subsystems, and data warehousing to video-on-demand and Internet/Intranet servers.

Previously, adding system memory was one of the only ways to increase I/O.  But with today’s high-performance applications, adding more system memory can slow performance by requiring more CPU cycles for memory allocation and management.  By providing a dedicated storage unit to offload the added I/O demands, Ultra Series SSDs deliver an optimal solution.

Instead of storing data on magnetic disks, Ultra Series SSDs use an array of memory chips.  This eliminates the delays that are an inherent part of hard disks – seek time, latency and settle time.  The result is access time less than 50 microseconds, up to 9 000 I/os per second, and external transfer rates in excess of 30 megabytes (MB) per second.

DLT 7000

Quantum DLT 7000 half-inch cartridge tape drives set a new standard in data storage and retrieval.  With a native transfer rate of 5 megabytes (MB) per second and a native capacity of 35 gigabytes (GB), the DLT 7000 handles the most demanding data backup, archiving, and near online storage applications.  Building on the traditional strengths of DLT tape technology, the DLT 7000 tape drives provide significant performance and capacity advantages over others in their class.

DLT 4000

Quantum DLT 4000 half-inch cartridge tape drives deliver the reliability and proven performance needed for heavy duty-cycle applications in mid-range to high-end computers.  Ample storage is provided with a native capacity of 20 gigabytes (GB) and performance is assured with a sustained native transfer rate of 1.5 megabytes (MB) per second.
