Travel And Tourism

Qualify in the most exciting and fastest growing industry in South Africa!
Technisa offers a travel and tourism course, ranging from standard 7 (grade 9) to N4, N5, N6 and soon N7.  This will enable you to gain access to further education or employment in the tourism industry.
Our Travel Centre offers group packages at reasonable rates for domestic or international tourists.
Videos on various holiday destinations in South Africa are available for use by our students.
Internet access is available to our students (at a cost).

Educare

A student who enrols for the NIC and NSC Educare course must have access to a day care centre, creche or nursery school where the practical work can be completed under supervision of a qualified teacher.  TECHNISA lecturers will moderate the marks allocated by evaluators.
The period of practical work is ten weeks for each year, consisting of 5 hours per week for 10 weeks.  During the first year practical tasks are aimed at babies from birth to 3 years and during the second year children from 3 to 6 years are involved.

Funeral Directing

The course in Funeral Directing can be completed in a minimum of two years.
Registration for a subject is valid for a period of one year from date of registration.
A student enrolling for the Course in Funeral Directing should have access to a Funeral Directing office where the practical work can be completed under supervision of a qualified director.  TECHNISA lecturers will moderate marks allocated by evaluators.
The period of practical work is ten weeks during the second year, consisting of 5 hours per week for 10 weeks.
As soon as their enrolments have been processed, students will receive the name and address of a TECHNISA training centre in their vicinity where the practical assignments are to be evaluated.

ABET (Adult basic education and training)

TECHNISA offers the following ABET courses, available in English only:
Contact classes in ABET levels 1 - 3 for literacy and numeracy; and
an ABET Educators' Certificate by means of distance education for people interested in educating illiterate adults.
