THE WATERMAID SALT WATER CHLORINATOR
The Power Supply - Model WN934A
It features advanced Safety Protection using Hybrid Circuitry, which allows Automatic Electronic Overload Suppression (AEOS), and is coupled to two Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR's) rated to 65 amps at 125 C.
The advantages are:

The most sophisticated salt chlorinator control circuitry available.
- A smooth linear output control from 0 to 20 Amps.
- A.E.O.S. is situated on the low voltage side of the transformer and needs a miniscule (milliamperes) load for operation to prevent over-heating and ensure circuit longevity.
- No matter what the salt level is, even if the cell is dead shorted, the Watermaid will still operate unperturbed at any present level, eg. when the variable output (chlorine) control is set to 20 Amps and no matter what the salt level or temperature are in the pool, the Watermaid will not exceed 20 Amps.
- The Watermaid unit stays in control rather than out of action.
- 2A Fuse protection on Primary: Fusing on Secondary side completely protecting transformer.
- Gas sensor protection providing automatic cut-off when no water is flowing.
All components in the Watermaid Unit are suitably over-rated and tested to provide maximum efficiency and fewer problems, all to support the Watermaid Unit rather than let it down. If a component fault does occur in time, Watermaid will rectify the problem immediately, not when current stocks of the offending component run down.
The "QT" Cell
With a proven cell design that has changed only minimally since 1971, the Watermaid cell with the centre Mesh Cathode has changed to Solid Titanium Tube Cathode - 3 1/2 times heavier than the equivalent mesh cathode and now known as the QT Cell. The result is:
- Increased Performance by around 40% for the same size cathode
- Lower Maintenance. Cleaning is reduced drastically due to the smooth tube surface which helps to slow down calcium buildups.
- Longer Electrode Life. A solid tube will last longer than the mesh electrode. A normal expected life is between 4-8 years. This is based on the historical 150CM cell / 90 CM cell true life expectancy and then allowing for the heavier cathode used in QT Series Cells, ie. not just a marketing ploy.
